Trying My Patience

Things that make my patience wear thin

About

I'm not overly cynical or critical. The surrounding world just repeatedly fails to meet my standards and expectations.

E-mail senders enclosing the phrase Consider the environment before printing this e-mail at the end - you are trying my patience.

OK, you sent me an e-mail. OK, I’m considering the environment. Now what?

Maybe if you sent me shorter e-mails without unnecessary additions to your already abundant signature, it wouldn’t take so many sheets to print your damn e-mail in the first place.

  2. It appears these people using that tag line weren’t too concerned about the hundreds of thousands of murdered trees holding up the communication lines used to transfer their email along the highways and byways to their destination.

  3. There are clearly many ways in which the environment is being damaged and the average person usually isn’t an eco warrior who is going to personally change the fact there are “murdered trees holding up the communication lines used to transfer their email along the highways and byways” but raising awareness not to print uneccasarily is a simple thing that everyone can do, so give people a break who are trying to re-educate others that not everything is needed in hard copy, like the old days. And for all you know the people with the tag at the end of their email may also be lobbying to stop the murdering of trees and other large scale environmental issues and this is just a tiny part of what they are doing for the environment. Save your negativity for people you are intentionally out there to do harm, not people that are trying to do good - even if it is in a very small way.
